日本語 - Grammar Level 4
Grammar levels here will loosely correlate to JLPT levels, but more closely follow the Genki Series. This is intended to be a quick reference guide for myself by maybe it could be useful to others.

Used to specify a frequency withing a timeframe. <TimeFrame>に<TimesPerTimeframe> |

の can be added to the end of a sentence to mark it as a question in much the same way か can. |
Forms
| Volitional |
食べよう (Lets Eat) |
The Volitional form changes something into an Invitation to do an action. The base word 食べる becomes 食べよう making it an invitation to the action of eating. "Lets Eat". |
| Passive |
はなされる (To be talked about) |
Passive is used when an action is directed at someone. Like if people were to talk about you. This usually has a negative connotation. |
| Causative |
動物園に行かせる (You can go to the Zoo / You are made or caused to go to the zoo) |
Causative can be used to grant permission for something or indicate that someone is forced to do something. This differentiation is based on context. In this case 行く becomes 行かせる. |
| Causative Passive |
はなさせられる (Be made to speak (when its something you don't want to do or impacts you)) |
Someone is made to do something that impacts them (Usually Negatively) |
Sentence Enders
| かもしれない |
午後から雨が降るかもしれない (It might rain in the afternoon) |
A - Might, Maybe, Perhaps. |
| みたい |
雨が降るみたい (It seems like it's going to rain) |
To say something seems a way or is like something. |
Grammar Points

方 / かた is used to ask / tell the how or method to do something |
| ことにする |
タバコを吸わないことにする (I decided not to smoke) |
To state that someone has decided something. The emphasis here is on the person who has made the decision. |
| ことになる |
来週旅行に行くことになった (It has been decided that I will go on a trip next week) |
To state that something has been decided. The emphasis here is on the fact that a decision has been made. |

毎朝ジョギングすることにしている (I make it a habit to jog every morning) |
To show a habit or an ongoing decision to do something. |

映画を見るなら、アクションがいいです (If it’s about watching a movie, then action movies are good.) |
If A is the case then B. In the format [A]なら[B]. |
| にくい |
この漢字は読みにくいです (This kanji is difficult to read) |
Used to describe something as difficult to do. |
| といい |
明日晴れるといいですね (It would be good if it’s sunny tomorrow) |
It would be nice if A. In the format [A]といい. |
| なくてもいい |
行かなくてもいいです (You don't have to go) |
A does not have to be the case. In the format [A]なくてもいい. |
| ようにする |
ドアを閉めるようにしてください (Please make sure to close the door) |
Try to make sure that A. In the format [A]ようにする. |

旅行の前にホテルを予約しておきます (I will book the hotel in advance before the trip) |
